TRAINEE UNIMOG SALES PERSON WANTED

KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
South Cave Tractors Ltd is looking to recruit a Unimog sales person who is interested in comprehensive training to develop the specific skills required to become an effective Unimog sales professional.

Based in our East Yorkshire offices you will be working directly with the sales team, identifying new customers, new business opportunities and looking after South Cave Tractors existing Unimog customers nationwide as well as generating new targeted Unimog sales across a broad spectrum of industrial, business and private sector organisations.

An agreed, fixed, starting salary will be provided during the probationary period and ongoing training process with additional sales bonuses available for achieving sales targets after successful training.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
·         Responsible for identifying new business and building lasting relationships with prospective customers over a wide sales territory.

·         Responsible for growth & development of the Unimog customer portfolio within the business

·         Ensure that all prospects and clients are contacted and followed up and that a regular cycle of contact is maintained, and that all relevant information is added to the company database.

·         Monitor the progress of all sold orders to ensure that deadlines are met in respect of vehicle acquisition and preparation, that all necessary documentation has been prepared

·         Ensure that the demonstrator fleet is effectively used to maximise sales

·         Calling on, welcoming and providing support personally, by telephone and in writing to interested parties and customers

·         Informing and advising visitors on Mercedes-Benz Unimog, equipment/bodies, prices, conditions, technical data and other issues

·         Explaining differences between the Mercedes-Benz Unimog and competitors’ vehicles; highlighting usefulness/advantages

·         Organising and carrying out vehicle demonstrations and evaluating results

·         Compiling and sending out offers and quotations for Unimog and associated equipment.

·         Well-targeted and continuous planning of acquisition of new customers

·         Involvement in sales events/ride and drive type events/exhibitions

·         Carrying out market and target group analyses and compiling statistics

·         Fostering contacts to key individuals, associations and groups in the region

·         Carrying out customer and demand/need-oriented sales talks

·         Offering and selling accessories

Continued:-

·         Explaining financing and leasing opportunities and insurances and concluding/arranging relevant contracts

·         Concluding sales, negotiating terms (trade-ins, type and method of payment, method of vehicle transfer, etc.), if necessary obtaining agreements and drawing up the sales contract

·         Offering and selling service packages

·         Recording the customer’s order preparing cost calculation and passing them on to the respective department

·         Checking confirmation of order and, if necessary, passing it on to the customer

·         Recording, dealing with and passing on customer’s desired amendments
(changes to vehicle type and fittings)

·         Agreeing on processing and registration type and procedures with customer

·         Supervising conclusion of financing, leasing contracts, insurances and service contracts

·         Supervising all processes up to delivery

·         Agreeing with customers when the vehicle is to be put at their disposal (date, delivery, registration, etc.)

·         Handing over vehicle and introducing customer to the vehicle

·         Planning and carrying out regular contact with customers

·         Regularly recording customer satisfaction and initiating relevant measures.  Mitigating any potential negative post-purchase behaviour.

·         Although predominantly Unimog focussed the successful applicant will be expected to identify sales opportunities for associated and complimentary product lines supplied by the company.

·         Direct contact and cold calling to arrange meetings and visits with potential new clients.  Organising your own daily/weekly/monthly diary and travel to achieve pre-agreed level of activity.

·         Regular reporting on your activity and progress to the MD and involvement in the development of sales direction and forward planning.

·         Promoting and protecting the reputation quality ethos of South Cave Tractors Ltd built upon honesty, communication and customer care.

·         Adopting the company’s ISO 9001 quality standard as part of your day-to-day work and ensure that the companies policies are adhered to.

·         IT competent and a familiarity with modern social media marketing would be a benefit.

·         Establish friendly and mutually beneficial relationships with key bodybuilders and work with them to identify new opportunities.

·         Attend sales/supplier meetings with key individuals from representative suppliers in the UK and Europe, as required.

·         Attend appropriate and ongoing training, when available, to add to your growing skills base and further your continuous development.

·         Learn software systems for quotations, vehicle specification checking, marketing and other helpful and associated MB and other third-party or bespoke software systems.

·         Identify ‘used vehicle’ sales opportunities for potential future trade-in machines and equipment, stock vehicles and ex-demonstrators.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
The Mercedes-Benz Unimog Sales person will be expected to develop their skills in the area of vehicle and equipment sales, supported by official MBUK training at Milton Keynes and Wentworth Park.

For the successful candidate, previous truck or vehicle sales experience might be helpful but not essential.  Owing to the unique nature of the Unimog product comprehensive training will be provided.

Some knowledge or experience of the agricultural, utilities, fire and rescue, environmental, local authorities, rail, civil engineering, highways, construction, the environment and other sectors might be of benefit.

They should be entrepreneurial and self-motivated with the ability to build and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with customers.

They are a good communicator, articulate, argue logically and clearly, show they hold customers in high esteem, are reliable, honest and trustworthy.
